In the recently published “Ärzteliste” of the magazine FOCUS-Gesundheit, three physicians of MCLINIC were honored for outstanding achievements in their specialties. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Dr. Denys J. Loeffelbein, PD Dr. Daniel Lonic and PD Dr. Elias Volkmer received the award “TOP-Mediziner 2022” and are thus among Germany’s most renowned physicians* in their fields. This is the result of an extensive study conducted by the independent research institute FactField GmbH on behalf of FOCUS. A list of the country’s top physicians was compiled from over 75,000 physicians by means of extensive data collection and physician surveys. The list claims to bring together the best experts in their field in Germany.

Orthognathic surgery involves the surgical correction of jaw malpositions. The aim is the correct alignment of the upper and lower jaws to each other and to the facial skull. Synonymous terms are dysgnathic surgery, or orthodontic surgery.
Dr. Loeffelbein, who is also Medical Director of MCLINIC and also Chief Physician at Helios Klinikum München West, says with pride of the award for his colleagues: “We are delighted that, in addition to the past awards as Recommended Doctors of the Region, we have now also received this national award for three top physicians. We see this as a confirmation of the high quality of medical and personal treatment at our MVZ.” Dr. Lonic, who co-leads MCLINIC with Dr. Loeffelbein, adds, “MCLINIC’s core mission has always been to provide people with medical treatment that always exceeds the standard professionally, personally and technologically, resulting in better outcomes. The awarding of the seals is a clear signal for us that we live up to this claim in our daily work. We are very proud that my colleagues and my entire team stand for the quality of our practice.”
The FOCUS Ärzteliste lists 4155 doctors from 122 specialties. In addition to treatment frequencies, the ranking also includes ratings by patients and physicians, patient service, digital offerings and publications. For almost three decades, the magazines FOCUS and FOCUS-GESUNDHEIT have published lists of the leading physicians in Germany. Further information on the procedure and methodology can be found in the current issue of “FOCUS-Gesundheit” (p. 73). The research for the current list ended in February 2022.

As of February 8, 2025, PD Dr. Elias Volkmer has been granted full authorization (24 months of training time) to provide specialized training in hand surgery.
