Private lecturer Dr. Elias Volkmer has been promoted to head of hand surgery at Helios Klinikum München West after four years as section head.
In his new role, Dr. Volkmer will have an increased focus on his medical specialties in distal radius fracture, wrist arthroscopy and wrist osteoarthritis treatment. In particular, hand surgery emergency care is to be given a higher priority as part of his appointment. Furthermore, as in the past, outpatient surgeries and treatments will be performed at the MCLINIC, while inpatient procedures will be performed at the Helios Klinikum München West.

Nothing will change for the care of MHAND patients. Dr. Volkmer will continue to lead MHAND, the hand surgery practice of MCLINIC, together with PD Dr. Daniel Lonic. He is supported in this by the two salaried specialists Dr. Rosanna Bodmaier and Dr. Anna von der Heide, who also practice at both locations. The advantage for MHAND patients: They can rely on a fixed team, the usual change of practitioner when admitted to a hospital is not necessary and the necessary operations can still be performed by our doctors personally.
